About Our Handheld & Automatic Pill Crushers

AB Innovations Inc. was founded in 2003, after Dennis Kruger spent a full year researching, developing and proto-typing a better way to crush a pill.

Earlier in 2002 while working at the local hospital, Dennis was introduced to the standard practice for crushing pills – a ¾ inch iron bar and a medical cart. Further investigation uncovered many novel and ingenious ways people were using to crush a pill, including smashing with a hammer, stamping and grinding with a foot, and mashing between two spoons. While attending an Occupational Health & Safety meeting a week later, Dennis learned that a nurse from the same hospital had been on injury leave for over a month with a rotator cuff injury, caused by the same ¾ inch iron bar and medical cart.

Something wasn’t right. There had to be a better way.

After extensive research and development, the original Ultimate Pill Crusher was introduced to the medical field in 2003. The pain free and easy operation of the Ultimate Pill Crusher has made it a preferred pill crushing solution for many healthcare professionals since 2003.

We have since expanded our product line to include manual and electrical pill crushers for both home and institutional use, and are always looking to further develop our easy and simple to use pill crushing solutions.
